I’m a big fan of ‘The Office’, having watched it though a few times. I concur with the popular consensus that season 4 was the strongest, although even I find it strange that people would start there.
So if I had to guess (and this isn’t revealed by the data in either direction) then I would have thought the high popularity of that season was down to repeat viewing by fans, rather than many people starting at season 4 and slowly dropping off.
The lack of clear season delineation in the viewing patterns was interesting to me. Further proof that binge watching cuts across traditional frameworks for thinking of a TV show.
All thoughts on the topic welcomed.
