One thing which particularly spoke to me was the demand for lighter sci-fi fare, with sci-fi family, sci-fi comedy and sci-fi adventure films all under-supplied.  It overlaps with some other research I conducted recently over on my personal blog https://stephenfollows.com/do-films-with-positive-messages-make-more-money/
